In 1868 An Episcopalian and a man whose religious background was not sympathetic to the Episcopal Church, began a Sunday School in quarters then owned by the Masonic Lodge., in Lexington. That building no longer in existence. In addition to Lexington, a mission was also begun in Davisville, in 1869, at the behest of Mrs. Wildman Mills. In 1870 the Davisville Mission as known as Christ’s Church, was built. Lexington Church of the Good Shepherd became a parish in 1871 but building wasn’t completed till 1874. In 1975 Christ’s Church closed and Church of the Good Shepherd and Christ’s Church became one. It is now call Trinity Episcopal Church.
